Paul Pogba recently returned to training with Man Utd, but this game has come too soon in his recovery process to feature. Cristiano Ronaldo, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Marcus Rashford could all make the matchday squad having collectively missed the weekend’s draw against Aston Villa.
On Pogba’s return to training, Rangnick — who is expected to have the Frenchman available early next month — says the convalescing midfielder’s motivation to perform may be fuelled by wanting to impress potential suitors, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season.
He told reporters: “It’s not a question if a player has an expiring contract, the question is how much does he still want to be a part of this group, how much does he still feel emotionally and physically on board.
